Thank you for visiting, I hope you'll visit often and find this a useful place to learn more about Norwex products and get hints and suggestions for using your products better in your home.

I'm very excited to tell you how I finally had the opportunity to use our Norwex products while camping. It always seemed to me that Norwex microfiber would be excellent for camping, since cleaning with it does not require soap or chemicals.

That turned out to be 100% true! We camped at Leelenau State Park not too long ago, and enjoyed the experience overall very much. We like to go rustic camping. No electricity, carry in water, etc. We find that roughing it takes us back to a simpler way of life for a short time and also, we're not fond of noisy campgrounds. The quieter and more remote, the better! However, this can make cleaning and washing up a little more difficult.

This time, I went armed with some Norwex products, so keeping ourselves and our equipment clean was a lot easier than usual, and environmentally friendly too! When we camp, I use a vinyl table cloth over the provided picnic table at the campsite because it is so much easier to clean up, and the flatter smoother surface is easier to work on. I used to try to use "natural" or other spray solutions on the table cloth to clean it up with paper towels, but that was always washing the print off the vinyl tablecloth, wasting paper towels, and not a very effective way to clean anyway. With the Norwex Envirocloth, I was able to use a small amount of water to wet the cloth, wring it out well, and wipe down the tablecloth - leaving it not only clean, but none of the print washed off onto the cloth, there was no cleaner residue left on the cloth, and I had the confidence that any bacteria on the surface was removed as well.

I took along a little of the Norwex dish soap to wash dishes with. It not only works well, it is biodegradable and phosphate free, so I knew it would not harm any water sources when I dumped it. Side note: I used the Norwex dish soap diluted in water as a pre-laundry treatment on some dried blood which had found its way into the laundry unnoticed, and was at least a few days old. The blood washed out in the laundry without a trace!

For personal clean up I took along the travel pac of little envirocloths - which came in handy for cleaning up Sam and miscellaneous dirty enterprises that always go along with camping. He scraped his knee, and I was able to clean his knee with a clean, antibacterial cloth using only water and by the next day his "wound" was well on its way to healing with no infections and no messy antibacterial lotion!

Incidentally, I heard at a meeting that the Norwex antibacterial cloths are excellent for insect bites. I've trained Sam and myself to scrub bites with a Norwex cloth instead of scratching. The itch disappears quickly, and the bites heal faster!

While we were camping, we also took our face cloths, and cleaned up with those at night using only water. I used a bath towel for drying my hair after washing it, which wicks water out of hair like nobody's business, and since all the microfiber is so lightweight, it hardly takes any space in our duffle bags. Camping for 4 days without a traditional shower or running water was a lot more bearable this way.

If you do any camping, hiking or outdoor living this summer, think about taking along your Norwex products or feel free to contact me about what might be helpful for your style of outdoor life. Norwex really can improve quality of life in all sorts of ways, and I enjoy helping people discover how it can work for them!

Thanks for reading, and happy cleaning!
