Naturally Timeless Before and After

I wanted to try the Naturally Timeless products because I heard that Michelle Obama used a similar skincare product containing the same endangered Swiss apple called Uttwiler Spatlauber. This apple is known for its ability to be stored for long periods of time without shrivelling. It has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

My cleansing and moisturizing routine involves washing my face with a Norwex Body Cloth and water. In the morning, I apply both the day cream and the serum. At night, I find using the serum only is enough for my skin since I'm not drying it out with soaps and toners anymore.

Here are the results after 28 days. Please forgive the bad photography. ;)

In the above comparison, you can see that I have less pouch under my eyes, my forehead lines are less visible, my nose ring hole is less noticeable, my eyebrows are more defined, and my mustache has disappeared. The first three things can be attributed to the Naturally Timeless Day Cream and Face Serum from Norwex. The second two accomplished by plucking and waxing. ;)

Fine lines are diminished in the forehead; skin is firmer, smoother, and softer; pores are shrinking and blackheads are disappearing. Indents on the sides of the nose are from my glasses.

In this photo, you see that my laugh lines and forehead lines are less visible. My skin over my eyes and around my cheekbones appears firmer, and my eyebrow needs to be drawn in at the end. (teehee) Also, it may not be apparent but my skin tone has evened out a bit and I'm often told my skin is glowing.

They're everywhere: Bathroom surfaces full of germs, study finds

TORONTO - If you skip the sink after going to the bathroom, you really might want to think again.
A new study shows bacteria are plentiful on virtually every bathroom surface you might imagine touching — toilet handles, stall doors, soap and towel dispensers and washroom doors.
The research, done at the University of Colorado, shows the type of bacteria found on various surfaces correlates with the type of body part the surface came in contact with.
So bugs that are normally found on skin were found on surfaces that were touched and microbes normally found in soil were present on the washroom floors, probably because they came in on shoes.
But the types of bacteria that live in the human gut were found on toilet seats and handles and even, in some cases, on the handle of the door leaving the bathroom.
Lead author Gilberto Flores says it shows not everyone is washing their hands after using the bathroom, which is another reason why you might want to.

Product Review - Silver Care Plus Self Sanitizing Toothbrush ★

Silver Care Toothbrush
How do I love my Norwex Silver Care toothbrush? Let me count the ways. This is a seriously fantastic product. This is what one silver care user has to say about them:

"I'm generally prone to the kinds of recurring infections that cause colds, bronchitis, sinus problems, strep throat and the like - But in the 6 months since I got my beloved Silver Care toothbrush, I haven't had so much as a sore throat or sinus cold, let alone something as serious as strep or bronchitis. The Norwex toothbrush has totally blown me away!"
What you need to understand about your current toothbrush is this:
Every time you put your toothbrush in your mouth, the bristles touch all the bacteria living in there. That bacteria remains on your toothbrush even if you rinse it in scalding tap water, and the bacteria just sits there between brushings, growing and multiplying. Every time you brush your teeth, the bacteria that's been happily colonizing on your toothbrush gets re-introduced to your mouth. Then, as you brush, more bacteria from your mouth is deposited back onto your toothbrush. Yuck! But when I think about it, it's easy to see why I was getting sick over and over: I was re-infecting myself with my own toothbrush!

How does Norwex's Silver Care Plus Self Sanitizing Toothbrush work?

This is very clever, actually. The bristles of the self-sanitizing Silver Care toothbrush are embedded in the unique head plated with 99.9% pure silver. On contact with water, the silver head releases active silver ions that actually kill the bacteria. This antibacterial process is natural and continuous.

But is it a good toothbrush? Will it clean your teeth as well as a regular nylon brush?

Actually, because the bristles of the Silver Care toothbrush are made of microfiber, it cleans teeth much more effectively that a nylon-bristled toothbrush. The microfiber bristles are "grabby" but gentle, and are able to pick up more of the plaque and general yuck off your teeth than a regular nylon head.

Is the Silver Care toothbrush worth the money?

The Norwex Silver Care Plus toothbrush comes with 2 heads, and lasts a full year. Even if you are very hard on your toothbrush, one head will last the full six months.
NOTE: Silver does not contain nickel and is not an alloy. It does not leach at all nor does it come off the brush. Silver is considered to be hypo-allergenic.

Sanira System

Sanira System for Toilets

Norwex Sanira System gets toilets sparkling clean without the need for any of the harsh chemical cleaners you're undoubtedly used to.

Here's some general information about the Sanira System:
  • Both the brush and cleaning solution are produced from environmentally friendly raw materials that adhere to the strictest standards
  •
  • The brush does not contain any cavities where bacteria can thrive so it will not contaminate the surfaces you are cleaning.
  • The Sanira dispenses 10X less cleaning solution than other toilet cleaners, and the correct soap dosage is fuelled to the brush from the refill by means of a built-in channeling system
  • The Sanira solution contains the biodegradable, vegetable-based disinfectant "Irgasan DP300" which is neither poisonous nor corrosive.
  • The disinfectant breaks down within 48 hours where other solutions break down in 30 days!
  • One Sanira refill lasts 1 toilet about 1 year, if you clean it twice a week.
  • Sanira is a patented system that was designed for residential and commercial use.
  • The Sanira solution dispenser slowly collapses as it is emptied and takes very little space in the trash.  It can be recycled into plastic or incinerated into steam.
What does the Sanira Solution smell like?
The solution has a very fresh, mild scent. It's not the chemical smell that you associate with clean, but then, the smell we associate with clean is actually the smell of harmful chemicals. It's more of a "sweet" smell. It's difficult to describe the scent, but after using the Sanira System a few times, that smell will become your new definition of clean!
How do you use the Sanira System?
Simply press brush into the holder and count ~ 4 seconds to fill the brush with the disinfectant. Scrub it around inside and outside of the toilet and let the solution sit on the surface for 10 minutes before flushing away and wiping the exterior with a wet Antibac cloth. It's also great directly on tubs or showers because it gets rid of that mildew that builds up on tile.
Simply rinse the brush after each use and place into holder.
NOTE: If your toilets really need a good cleaning, you can actually take the Sanira solution dispenser out of the holder (the brush never touches the dispenser) and squirt it around the underside of the toilet rim. This puts the solution on at full strength. Leave it a few minutes, then scrub with the brush. You'll be amazed!
Sanira is also a disinfectant and mildew remover, and can be used anywhere
The solution can be mixed with water to be used as disinfectant: 1 part Sanira to 3 parts water. This will remove mildew (not black mold, which needs to be professionally removed). Use this same 1:3 disinfectant mix on change tables, bathrooms, cutting boards, countertops, or to soak “stale” smelling microfiber cloths in before laundering. Use the mixture at daycares or elderly homes to soak common surface areas or apparatus (toys, railings), then wipe off after 10 minutes.
What's the best thing about the Sanira System?
The best thing about Sanira is that you can feel good knowing that you're getting your toilets totally clean without subjecting yourself and your family to a whole bunch of harsh chemicals.

WELCOME to my blog

Things are changing so I have a new website and blog for you to have a look at.

Guide to Pesticides in Produce

Executive Summary

Eat your fruits and vegetables! The health benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure. Use EWG's Shopper's Guide to Pesticides to reduce your exposures as much as possible, but eating conventionally-grown produce is far better than not eating fruits and vegetables at all. The Shopper's Guide to Pesticide in Produce will help you determine which fruits and vegetables have the most pesticide residues and are the most important to buy organic. You can lower your pesticide intake substantially by avoiding the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and eating the least contaminated produce.

Commodity crop corn used for animal feed and biofuels is almost all produced with genetically modified (GMO) seeds, as is some sweet corn sold for human consumption. Since GMO sweet corn is not labeled as such in US stores, EWG advises those who have concerns about GMOs to buy organic sweet corn.

Top tips for safer products

Public health laws allow:
  • Almost any chemical as an ingredient in personal care products
  • Misleading and incomplete labeling of ingredients
  • Unsubstantiated claims about product benefits
  • No required safety testing of products or ingredients

What can you do?

Navigating store aisles can be difficult. Environmental Working Group researchers have evaluated hundreds of safety studies and thousands of ingredient labels to bring you our top recommendations for what not to buy.

The Full List: 53 Fruits and Veggies

EWG analyzed pesticide residue testing data from the US Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration to come up with rankings for these popular fresh produce items.
Lower numbers = more pesticides.
